Shana Oshiro obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from Morgan State University. An experienced soloist and ensemble performer in Maryland and the DC Metro area, Shana has performed with a number of arts companies, including the Baltimore Symphony, Opera Philadelphia, and Riverside Dinner Theatre. She also has performed several years with The Regressions, an Oldies and Motown rock band based in Boston, MA and frequent appearances as entertainment for the Walk for Hunger. She sings bass with Epic, the 2012 international champion barbershop quartet of Harmony, Inc. She also sings with the unique soprano trio, Bella Diva, performing contemporary pieces of love and inspiration as well as unique and fresh fusions of opera and hip hop.
Performance is not Shana’s only venue as a musician, Since graduating, she has taught piano and voice privately and in groups, also expanding her work with children to theater arts in her position with Walker Performing Arts. Shana then went on to expand her career into Music Therapy and completed her coursework in the masters certificate program at Shenandoah Conservatory. Shana completed her internship at NREP Special Education Schools in Winchester and acquired her degree and certification as a Music Therapist, Board-Certified. She now works with The Foundation Schools as Program Director for Music, designing and implementing music integration approaches and music therapy methods to serve adolescents with emotional disabilities.
